How to Spend One Day in Skagway
A practical plan for a typical cruise port day.
By Greg Peters, editor · Updated October 2026
Most visitors have 6–9 hours. Skagway is compact, so you can pair one big experience with a relaxed stroll.
A balanced day
- Morning: book the White Pass railway or a hike-and-float excursion early.
- Midday: lunch on Broadway — seafood or a quick bite.
- Afternoon: Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park and the Red Onion Saloon.
- Before all-aboard: shop local galleries and walk the boardwalks.
