Walking map: the docks and downtown Skagway
The cruise docks sit at the south end of town. Broadway, the historic main street, runs north from the waterfront, and most shops, saloons and museums are within a few blocks of it.

Questions visitors ask
Can I ride the White Pass train in 4 hours?
The White Pass Summit excursion takes 2.5 to 2.75 hours and boards on the cruise pier beside the ship, so it can fit a 4-hour call. You would have little time left for town, so check the departure times against your all-aboard time.
Do I need a passport?
Not for Skagway itself or for this walking plan. You need one only for trips that cross into Canada, such as Yukon tours. Round trips that turn back at the White Pass summit stay in the US.
How long does it take to walk Broadway?
About 12 minutes end to end, and the Broadway and Ore docks are a short walk from its foot.
How do I make sure I get back on time?
On busy days the line for the Railroad Dock tender or shuttle back can take 30 to 45 minutes, so be at the pickup point at least an hour before all aboard. If you book a tour on your own, choose one that returns at least an hour before your ship leaves.
